LESSON PRICES

PRICES

From 1st September 2022, the standard hourly rate is £30 per hour.
  • A beginner will have their first 2 hours at £20 each. This rate is not applicable to pupils who have had some tuition before from an ADI – Approved Driving Instructor. This rate is normally used for the pupil's first 2 hours of tuition, however, this is not set in stone and can be used at any point during the course of their lessons.

  • I offer 2 block booking packages to help minimise costs. These do seem to be quite popular. These blocks are in multiples of 5 or 10 hours. A block of 5 hours is £140, saving you £10 on the standard rate, and a block of 10 hours are £275, saving you £25 on the standard hourly rate. If pupils are interested in booking ahead for a larger or different number of lessons, this can be discussed and a price will be offered.

  • Motorway tuition is £32 per hour, suitable for any full licence holder regardless of age or experience.

  • Other refresher lessons£32 per hour – generally full licence holders, for anything they would like to practice including parking…which tends to be the most asked for!.

  • Pass Plus course – (consisting of 6 hours of post passing test tuition) – £200 (See Pass Plus page for more information regarding the course itself).

PAYING AND COURTESY

Lessons can be paid for by cash or cheque at the start of each lesson. Alternatively, bank transfer payments are becoming more popular with pupils and parents. Payments would need to be made in advance of the first lesson that they apply to. Bank details for transfers are printed on pupils' progress sheets. Refunds will not be given.

Lessons are booked on the understanding that both parties are available and have agreed that the date and time is suitable. Usually this will be organised together at the end of the previous lesson. It WILL be written on your appointment card you keep, unless booked over the phone or by text. I do have a cancellation policy where a notice of less than 24 hours before the due lesson time for cancelling a lesson, the pupil will be required to pay for that lesson, unless we can alter the lesson to another time during the same week, from Monday to Friday. I do try my best to change lessons to pupils wishes and don’t like to charge, even if it’s a late request, but sometimes it is unavoidable, especially when I’m just about to knock on the pupil’s front door and I receive the text or nobody is in!! If that particular lesson is part of a block already paid upfront it will be written as being had. i.e. If the lesson missed was no.3 of a block of 5, your next lesson will be no.4. I try to get pupils to understand how another pupil could have used that time now lost and how I also lose out too. It is courteous to let me know in good time. If I need to change, I will always let you know in good time too.

If a pupil needs to change picking up or dropping off points, I will need to know in good time before the lesson starts. It can really become an issue for my travelling time to my next lesson, potentially making me late which is never good and therefore having a knock on effect for the rest of the day. I have refused sometimes because of this but I am generally flexible though and most times it is perfectly fine. I do not wish to find out a new finishing place when sat in the car!
