THE INSTRUCTOR

ANDREW BEVAN

Hello, and thank you for viewing my website. I am Andrew Bevan, and apart from a few years living near to York I have lived around Halifax all my life. I know the town and all the surrounding areas very well. This makes teaching much easier. I currently live in Denholme, a village in between Halifax, Keighley and Bradford. I live with my wife Clare and my 3 children. I enjoy sports, mainly cricket and football (sport conversations often crop up during.

I enjoy music and singing too as I sing in a church choir. I enjoy reading Stephen King horrors and also gardening. Most of all, I love being a dad. You will find that there are days where I pick up my children after school, which could affect my teaching hours. (See About…Lessons) I first started teaching in January 2008, after passing all 3 parts of the instructor process first time. I was very glad that I opted to choose this career path. I am an Approved Driving Instructor (ADI). I am registered on with the DVSA – the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency. I love my job. I really enjoy seeing my pupils getting the best out of the lessons and out of me too. There isn’t anything better than seeing a pupil return after a successful driving test and me knowing that I have helped with this and that they now have a licence to drive for life. I hope therefore that I have taught you the skills to drive for the rest of your life. Not just for the test.
You may find that I can be a little bit of a perfectionist when it comes to practicing. I believe repetition is key to a better standard of driving. I also believe that there isn’t the perfect driver out there, but we can always try to be. Precision is Key If I were to have a tag line this would be it. I hope my inner beliefs rub off on you all I ask of you is to always try your very best.

As I mentioned, I have a family at home and lockdown this year taught me one thing. I had spent too much time teaching last year. My days were very long, working from 9am until 9pm every day plus I worked the weekends too. I am a family man, you will see this when I am teaching, but I decided that I needed to spend more time at home and therefore I have since stopped teaching weekends, unless it was absolutely necessary. I hope this isn’t an issue to those of you who would’ve preferred lessons on a Saturday, I am flexible for evening lessons, this can be discussed of course. By all means, click on the link below and send me your query so we can discuss this and any other matter you would like to raise.
